How a SOMEBODY. Drop Is Made

People ask how a small label makes streetwear that feels heavier and better than what they find at the mall. The answer is in the process. Here is how every SOMEBODY. drop comes together.

1. The blank

We start with Lane Seven blanks out of Los Angeles, chosen for weight and structure. A blank that holds its shape is the foundation of a hoodie that lasts.

2. Custom dye lots

Each drop gets its own dye lot, mixed for that release only. Drop 002 is the olive capsule. The exact tone will not be repeated, which is part of what makes a numbered drop a numbered drop.

3. Cut and sewn in LA

Construction happens in Los Angeles, where we can stay close to the work and keep runs small. Limited quantities mean we can hold a higher bar on every seam.

4. Numbered and hand finished

Finishing and packing is done by hand. Every garment gets a numbered hangtag marking it 1 of 200. There are no printed logos on the garment itself.

5. The drop

When 200 pieces are ready, we release them. Once they sell out, that piece never comes back. If you want to understand the reasoning, read Why We Only Make 200.
